Sorry it has been a while since I have updated this, but I am sure you are wondering how things are going, so here it is...
Since my last blog, I have had 2 CT scans and there has been no change in my tumors. This new drug is making it stable once again. This is great news! No growth and no change. It seems that every time I go for treatment it ends up being a difficult day though. Yesterday, was a long visit. I has a CT scan and a PET scan (like a MRI but they inject you with radio active dye because tumors absorb glucose and they can see if my tumors are active or not). The dye made me sick and when I went for my treatment, there was a mistake with the drug so I didn't get home until almost 11pm. It was really stressful. But I had a great friend with me who made it a little easier to deal with. I won't have to do anymore PET scans until I am finished with this drug now so that is good.
If you are reading this and wondering "gee I wish I could help somehow", I do have a couple of needs. I go every Wednesday for my infusion and I need people to go with me (usually because they make me really tired for the drive home). I also need somebody to help with the boys after school and sometimes before school on Wednesdays. So if you are interested please email me or call me.
Thank you for all of your prayers and support! It has been such a blessing to have so many caring people in my life!
I am so glad to hear that things have not changed...I remember all the trips me and my family took to Ann Arbor for Jessica. Just the drive up can sometimes be stressful...and then to get there and something goes wrong with the test...Wow. Hang in there darlin...you're going to make it.
ReplyDeleteOur choir is learning this new song...It's called "I Can Make It, I Can Stand." Your wellness journey reminds me of it...the words are...
I can make it, I can stand, I want u to stay with me, hold my hand, u r my peace, u r my joy...I can make it, I can stand.
Through heart ache, dissapointments, even through sickness and pain, I can make it, I can stand.
Hey! This is my first comment on a blog EVER. Aren't you special? (I think we all know how special you are girl.) Anywho, this is for all y'all who are thinking about possibly going with Heather on a Wednesday - DON'T DO IT!! No, just kidding!!! DO IT!! It's fun. You don't ever have to leave Heather's side, you get to sit right beside her and chit chat all day long. When do us girls get to, or allow ourselves to, spend a whole day with a friend chit chatting? So, do it, even if you have to take a personal day at work. It's worth it and that is one headache Heather won't have to deal with on a weekly basis. Call her and schedule a Wednesday in the future. Take care everyone, and GO BEARS! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm on maternity leave right now, so I'd be happy to go with you, or drive you to any appointments you've got on Wednesdays or otherwise! Just let me know, chick! :)
