Hello Everybody! I know that I haven't posted in a long time. Really, there hasn't been any new news until today. I had my long appointment at Ann Arbor today. The results are great. My tumors in my lungs are growing at 3%. This doesn't sound good, so let me put this into perspective. The largest tumor has grown 1mm in 3 months. Before I began to take this new research drug, it was growing an average of 1mm per month. The growth rate has decreased by 1/3. This means that this drug is stabilizing my tumors. AWESOME!!!!! I chose to try it for another three months and we will check it again. My white cell count is slightly high and that is abnormal for me. The doctor isn't concerned though. He thinks that my body is just building antibodies against my cancer and I am fighting it well.

I want to share an opinion with everybody. When somebody gets diagnosed with a terminal illness, it is not always a bad thing. I have learned who my friends and family really are (you are one if you are reading this). God has a reason for everything. I met a gentleman today at the doctor's office who seemed very upset because he was recently diagnosed with a similar cancer as mine. We chatted briefly and I had a good feeling that I was able to let him see that it is our attitude that keeps us going. We have been diagnosed with a special cancer because we are special people. If we sit back and let God do the worrying, we will make it through this.

Once again, your prayers and comments are much appreciated. I would not have made it this far with all of your uplifting words and prayers. I hope you all have a great summer and a safe July 4th. I will post again in 3 months when I have my next CT scan.

Love you all,
Heather
